President meets NGO representatives>>

Honorable President of India, Mr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam for the first time invited 100 identified NGOs of the country in a dinner organized on the eve of Independence Day. Honorable Prime Minister of India also was present in this occasion. The President during his one hour interaction with NGO representatives highlighted that the organization should take their own initiatives by lessening their dependency on government sector. President viewed that NGOs should play an active role in mainstreaming the rural sectors with the developmental process so that service providers such as doctors, teachers etc of cities/metros turn out important for the rural masses. Mr. Satish Girija, Secretary, NBJK highlighted various burning issues of Jharkhand like child/women trafficking, migration, equal opportunity for the disabled etc. Speaking on the occasion he stressed that facilities available in the urban sectors should be doled in rural units also. He focused that if this happens than 50% of existing problems can be solved and avenues for an balanced developmental approach can be chalked out. President lastly recommended that each NGO should email him a write up highlighting their role and responsibility towards societal development, major achievements and how will history remember them.

 

SHG linked up with Banks>>

Durga Mahila Mandal of Dhankher village at Dhankheri panchayat in Itkhori block of Chatra district was constituted on 1st January 2003 undrer the ' Sustainable livelihood and women empowerment program' funded by CAA. Every month cumulative saving of group members figured out to be Rs. 280. Till date group savings stands to be Rs. 13, 000. NBJKs facilitation has enabled the group to be linked up with State Bank of India, Itkhori branch. Under the bank's scheme the group was sanctioned loan of 1, 45, 000 to develop and carry out milk production unit. With the sanctioned fund group members purchased four buffaloes. Now the group members earn Rs. 25/ day. The group earnings stand out to be Rs. 350/ day. Group has refunded Rs. 37, 000 of the total loan sanctioned .

Independence Day Celebrations>>

Independence Day was celebrated in Chandrakala Daga Devi School at Kewalia village of Chouparan block in Hazaribag district. School students hoisted the national flag, sang national anthem and organized cultural programs in this occasion. Independence day celebrations were also observed at NBJK offices in Hazaribag, Ranchi, Koderma, Chauparan, Gaya and Patna.

NBJKs stall among stalls set up by District Administration>>


Mr. Rahul Purwar ( Ex. DC, Hazaribag) visits NBJK stall

On the occasion of Breast Feeding Week stalls were set up by district administration. Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra was also invited in this occasion. Organization also put up its stall depicting safe motherhood practices. NBJKs stall was highly acclaimed and applauded by Mr. Rahul Purwar, DC, Hazaribag.

 
Block level Essay competition

NBJKs Khunti-Murhu branch organized a block level essay competition on 13th August, 2006 cornering the issue of disability amidst students of eight schools of the identified block. The competition was a measure to develop positive attitude among students and teachers towards people with disability and to alleviate the situation of PWD from society.

   
Construction work in process>>

 
Construction work at Roshni Dhruv High School in process

Construction work is in process in Roshni Dhruv High school in remote adivasi dominated Churchu village of Churchu block of Hazaribag district. Two halls are being erected in this process to accommodate and enroll more students in the school and increase the area coverage.


Birsa Bal Niketan, Sisai block, Gumla district

Similarly in Sisai block of Gumla district, shed of Birsa Bal Niketan was completed to provide appropriate educational facilities to the children enrolled in this school.

Human being after learning to walk on two feet, evolved through several ages like Stone age, Iron age, Jet age, and Space age and finally landed up in the garbage age. Our environment is being neglected in the blind race of development.
