The efforts of the government and the non-government agencies have definitely provided a path to fight the chronic health problems of the poor however, the burgeoning population, endemic poverty, lack of awareness, corruption all these cocktail in making this fight a difficult one. The government efforts through Anganbadi centers, the health centers, the free health camps in the interior villages have undoubtedly helped in providing better health services to the poor. On the other hand the non-government organizations are playing a crucial role by running their own programs and also facilitating and ensuring the government programs reach the most deprived.
NBJK has been running several different projects that deal with various aspects of health, viz Reproductive and Child Health, Disability, Cleanliness, Eye defects, etc.
