Jharkhand and
Bihar are both blessed with a wealth of resources.
Jharkhand, for example, has an overwhelming 40% of India's
mineral wealth. Both states are rich in fertile land and
have a natural water system.
In sharp contrast
to the wealth potential of both states, they are ranked at
the bottom of India's poverty scale. More than half the
population lives below the poverty line with a low adult
literacy rate and a high infant and maternal mortality rate. NBJK has recognised that the only way to achieve meaningful
development and alleviate poverty is through proper
management of the vast resources available. |
